Morissa has been practicing and teaching meditation for many years, beginning in her spiritual community, and as a student of yoga.

In 2018, she began to seek out more formal training in this practice, and became a certified meditation teacher through the 6 month Yoga On High Meditation Teacher Training program, graduating in May 2020. In October 2020 she completed her Pranayama teacher training with the Samanova School of Yoga. In March 2021, Morissa completed training in Yoga Nidra through the Samanova School of Yoga. Morissa also has her Reiki Level 1 Attunement from Yoga On High and Reiki Level 2 with Untamed Wisdom .

Morissa approaches meditation from many lenses, and enjoys making classes a multi-sensory experience. She currently is a freelance guided meditation, pranayama, and yoga nidra teacher, and teaches Jewish meditation at Congregation Beth Tikvah (Worthington, OH) where she is the Director of Education & Lifelong Learning.

My Meditation Philosophy:

"Meditation is the practice of finding your inner stillness and self, and reaching deep within to access the calm and peace we all innately have in our minds and bodies. Sometimes it is challenging to do this alone. We might need a guide on this journey of awareness, and that is why I teach meditation.

As a musician I often have heard the phrase: 'everyone who has a voice can sing'. After my own experiences in this practice, I firmly believe that everyone can meditate -- and you may already be practicing this without even realizing. It may not all be perfect at first, but with practice and community we can each find the “tune”, or spark, within us. I believe that we need meditation more that ever in this world because we are so overwhelmed by stimuli and expectations in our society. I seek to bring stillness to those who seek it."

"Morissa is very gifted at leading meditation. It is gentle, warm, relaxing and perfect for what we all need at this particular time! Many thanks."

"Morissa’s voice and pace are very soothing. She makes things feel very natural and easily flows through the different parts of the practice. I enjoy the readings she shares and the extras she adds in that make it unique."

"Morissa has a very soothing voice and her script kept me engaged enough to not wander off into my own thoughts [work, my phone, etc] while I relaxed enough to not realize how engaged I was."

"Morissa has a calming voice, uses eloquent wording, and is passionate about her teaching. It was obvious she put thought and effort into her scripting, and I appreciated that she attuned it to my level of practice. I love chakra meditations and it was great that she wanted to share that with me. Looking forward to more meditations with Morissa"
